Explore our previous conferences, workshops, and webinars that inspired awareness, action, and advocacy across Pakistan.

Duration & Hours

Flexible hours (4-8 weeks), remote internship. Interns may apply to one or more categories based on their skillset and interest.

Key learning outcomes

  • Develop evidence-based writing and mental health communication skills.
  • Strengthen editorial judgment, fact-checking, and ethical reporting.
  • Gain exposure to outreach, event documentation, and media production.
  • Learn cross-disciplinary collaboration and teamwork within digital editorial projects.
  • Build a professional portfolio of published and reviewed work.

General Core activities

  • Draft, edit, and fact-check written and digital content.
  • Contribute to planning and coverage of events or campaigns
  • Support content research, citations, and plain-language translation.
  • Participate in regular mentorship and editorial review sessions.

General Deliverables

  • Minimum one publishable article or creative piece.
  • Event or campaign summary/report.
  • Final reflection and supervisor evaluation.

Categories

1. Webinar Hosting and Coordination (Media Intern)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support coordination and communication with panelists and moderators.
  • Draft and proofread event descriptions, speaker bios, and session summaries.
  • Assist in moderating live sessions (e.g., managing Q&A, chat, and introductions).
  • Prepare post-event reports and reflection notes.
  • Collaborate with the content and design teams for promotional materials.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Learn the fundamentals of event moderation and digital facilitation.
  • Gain confidence in professional communication and stakeholder coordination.
  • Understand event documentation and synthesis for reports or media recaps.

Core Activities

  • Draft moderator briefs, speaker intros, and post-event highlights.
  • Coordinate speaker confirmations and run mock-session rehearsals.
  • Assist in Zoom or platform-based event setup and feedback collection.

Deliverables

  • One complete event summary/report.
  • One moderation brief or communication draft.
  • Contribution to at least one webinar’s logistical preparation.

2. Content Writing & Editorial Intern

Role & Responsibilities

  • Research, draft, and edit articles, interviews, or features on mental health, innovation, or psychology
  • Translate research or expert insights into accessible, public-facing writing.
  • Assist in developing content for campaigns, newsletters, and website updates.
  • Participate in editorial meetings and peer review discussions.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Learn evidence-based and plain-language mental health communication
  • Develop editorial discipline, tone consistency, and structural editing skills.
  • Understand story framing, ethical sensitivity, and advocacy-oriented writing.

Core Activities

  • Write at least one editorial or blog piece (short- or long-form).
  • Conduct background research and fact-check references.
  • Support social media captions, quotes, and event-based write-ups.

Deliverables

  • One publishable article or feature piece
  • One campaign-related content set (caption series, spotlight, or blog).
  • Participation in at least one peer-editing round

3. Graphic Design & Visual Communication Intern

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design digital assets for editorial features, webinars, and campaigns
  • Create info graphics, story slides, and social visuals for mental health topics.
  • Collaborate with writers to visualize complex ideas simply and effectively.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all Discover Psychology outputs.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Learn principles of visual communication in psychology and health media.
  • Build skills in data visualization and awareness design.
  • Understand the connection between visual tone, inclusivity, and impact.

Core Activities

  • Design event posters, highlight posts, or thematic info graphics.
  • Assist in refining social media visual strategy.
  • Create simple visual templates for editorial series or recurring features.

Deliverables

  • One event or campaign visual package (poster + carousel + story slides).
  • One info graphic or illustration explaining a mental health theme.
  • Collaborative contribution to at least one webinar or editorial campaign.

Supervision & Assessment

Each intern receives regular feedback sessions.
Intern performance will be evaluated through progress, collaboration, and final outputs.
